Thessaloniki International Airport "Macedonia" is located in 13 km from the center of Thessaloniki and is the second largest airport in Greece. Last year the SKG airport welcomed 5.7 million passengers, which is 6% more compared to the year 2015, while in the first five months of this year there has been an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year. In addition, international passenger traffic has increased by 15% compared to the previous five months.
The company stated that 1/3 of Fraport Greece's investments will go to the Thessaloniki airport and within the next four years it will increase its space from 27,000 sq.m. to 60,000 sq.m. “Macedonia” will also reorganize the space for the aircraft and as a result it might be able to welcome more (15%) planes.
